LCJ Stories | Through Their Eyes

Every Leo journey is different.

Through LCJ Stories, we're bringing experiences from our members as they share their journey with the Leo Club of Juhu. From their first event and the people they met, to the moments that stayed with them, the lessons they learnt, and everything in between.

Today, we're hearing from Ferill Punatar as she takes us through her very first Leo experience.

I'm Ferill Punatar, an 18-year-old student at Jai Hind College. I first heard about Leo through a friend's friend, and I was immediately interested because I've always wanted to be involved in activities that allow me to give back to the community. After seeing the incredible work Leo has done through its various service projects, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I was excited about the opportunity to contribute, meet new people, and make a meaningful difference through the work we do.

My first event as a Leo member for 2026–27 was "What's Inside Your Plate?" and honestly, I walked in not knowing anyone or even what I was supposed to do, but I was so excited for the service event.

It turned out to be such a fun and fulfilling experience. Volunteering with underprivileged children, reminding them about the nutrients our bodies need, and cooking with them made the day truly special.

The Master Chef competition was an absolute delight. Helping the kids decorate the dishes they prepared, playing games with the little girls, listening to them sing songs, and most importantly, seeing all their smiles made my heart so full.

"It was the perfect balance of service and masti. Truly one of the best Sundays I've ever had <3"

Volunteering doesn't always have to feel like work, it can be fun and incredibly rewarding too. It made me realise how much I enjoy being involved in activities where I can help others while creating happy memories along the way.
