The D-Day! Charter Day - Aaja Nachle

I had always known about the tradition of leos dancing on the charters day every year but this is the first time i experienced it and it surely was a blast. Our practices started two weeks back and i thought there would be some discomfort when well have to dance in front of everyone. But little did i know that there would be such a homely atmosphere. There was such a happy go lucky mood and one would expect to get tired after an energetic dance practice but all i felt was rejuvenated. The energy, the cheer, the applause after every practice, the motivation, the masti was enough to freshen anyone up! Not to forget the lipsmacking snacks provided by the lion ladies which made sure that no participant practiced with an empty stomach! What made it perfect was the fact that Samir sir, Arsh maam, Tamanna maam and Vivek sir were the choreographers. From the start of the practice days, to dancing on each actors songs, to applauding for each performance, to marvelling at the costumes, to the motivational speech given to us before the D-Day, every single moment was a memory created. As they say, the journey is more important than the destination. Sure, right before our performances we all felt nervous, but once we entered the stage, it just didnt matter whether we made a mistake or whether our dance was perfect, because we all had had and were having the time of our lives. Each of the participants and everyone in the audience enjoyed, and  thats what these performances were all about. Will miss these days and everyone a lot! Cant wait for the next Charter Day!

The Charter Day Practice

Every year, our club celebrates the day it was chartered, which was 58 years ago.  This year, the Lions Club of Juhu hosted a grand dance competition, inviting professional competitors and celebrity judges. The Leos were all geared up to give their best performance to welcome our guests. The Charter day practice was two weeks of immense excitement and energy.
The Leos were giving a tribute to four iconic Bollywood stars-Govinda, Shahrukh, Salman and Ranveer. Every night, after a routine day of work and college, we'd all arrive to practice with great energy. We would meet at “The Studio Under” in Vile Parle West, crank up the music and practice hard, having exceptionally fun nights! There were always those enthusiastic few to drag us to our feet when we thought we were too tired to go on, and after vigorous practices, there was always a tempting snack waiting for us to wrap up the day, provided by our parent club. Every night's practice left us tired but satisfied and every day we returned to practice better. This is my first year as a Leo and the Charter day was the first event I was a part of.  It was really, really wonderful to meet and to get to know all the Leos and I’m looking forward to getting to know everybody better. Every single day of these two weeks was truly exciting. We all loved to learn the wonderfully choreographed dances, but the real thrill was to be with everybody and have a whole lot of fun together. Somewhere between all the craziness, dance, late nights, exhaustion, and laughter, we formed bonds and memories that will last with us forever, and I’m sure that each one of us hopes to have many more :)
