A Kind Of Magic Was In The Air

28/6/2017

A kind of magic was in the air
Typical, yet equally rare,
Trying to understand, he,
Kept scratching his hair,
Thinking about it, she,
Had already started to care,
This simplest of mystery,
Fuelled thier affair!

He was smart and very intelligent,
While she was caring and benevolent,
The way he walked,
His personality was completely evident,
They way he acted,
he seemed soo diligent,
All of this she thought, was in her element,
She found him interesting,
A person extremely excellent!

Who is he, she always wondered,
Innocent like herself,
Would he like to ever be discovered?
Creating her viewpoint she never feared,
Because he's worth discovering, she never surrendered!

She is so beautiful, why shall she talk to me?
Knowing my flaws will she ever talk to a divorcee?
Pondering on these questions,
He used to always sit under a tree!

The first approach was a bit tough,
She tried so hard but she couldn't bluff,
As her voice was next to negligible,
She held out her hand to be a little reputable,
He shook her hand, to say her hello,
She saw him pursing his lips,
And that is all she needed to know.

The fuel had been fired,
Inside her mind, It is him she wants,
Was all that she now desired,
Their attempt at a hello,
Was all that was required,
In an instance, their hearts had wired!

All the flaws were put to ground,
To a tread named marriage,
They both were happily bound,
Soo much of love, was rarely found,
They lived happily ever after,
Like kings and queens uncrowned!

Benefits Of Becoming A Leo

15/6/2017

Recently, someone asked me 'What are the BENEFITS of joining Leo club?' , 'Will I get a certificate for building my resume?' and 'How much would I get to party?'

These questions forced me to think what is the actual meaning of Leoism! Is it to party all year ? Is it only for a certificate ?
NO!
It is much much more that that!
I've been a part of this club only since a year but the journey has been incredible!
LEO stands for Leadership,Experience & Opportunity! Here, I have been given an opportunity to lead service projects and gain experience not once but twice.
The best experience I had was during the one of the service projects wherein we had visited children who were victims of drug addiction !! From listening to their stories to hear them speak about their ambitions,it was amazing! I felt really proud of being a part of such a club which aided that organization who helped those kids recover and educated them! This was only one of the numerous service projects Leo club of Juhu has had!
The things that I have learnt cannot be expressed!
THAT'S THE BENEFIT!

You get to meet new people! You make a lot of friends! You don't realise but you start picking up all good traits from so many amazing people out here which in turn develops you as an individual!
THAT'S THE BENEFIT!

You might have always wanted to help to the underprivileged people but you don't know where to start or maybe due to other reasons you are not able to! Well, this is one such medium where you help those underprivileged people and discover Raw happiness when you see them Smile!
THAT'S THE BENEFIT!

Apart from service projects, there are many fellowship meetings! They might be outbound trips too! A person having a hectic schedule knows the importance of going out , even if its for dinner! Leo club gives you that chance to enjoy yourself & have fun because majority of meetings are held in the weekends! You might think this is the best way to party at a low cost! However, here we have fellowship & not partying! Here's the important thing one needs to understand! It's never been about partying! Its always been fellowship!
Fellowship is a friendly meet where people of a common interest get together and enjoy! The tagline says it all 'UNIFYING PEOPLE , TRANSFORMING LIVES'

Every thing has benefits!
It solely depends on how you see it!
You get to serve the society which has given you so much
THAT'S THE BENEFIT!

So,for all the people who wish to join Leo club just for chilling out or for a certificate to decorate your CV , my suggestion would be Please donot join because by doing so, you are killing the essence of the club which is primarily SERVICE & FELLOWSHIP !
And if you want a detailed guide to Leoism, make sure you read my friend Leo Ruchir Shah's post about Leoism! Noone else could have written better about Leo club than him!

I would like to end by saying that I'm proud to be Leo! Are you?

The Secret Face Of Archaeology ~ The Shadows Of Life #16

10/6/2017

History begins with humanity, human evolution tells everything. It must be hard with live unknowing the past. Right? The society, nations and all the people that brings together the same past time. They can growing in this way and share the common things you will create the our future. For all this, you need to research and understand the history in the best way. This happens with Archeology.
This open with the excavation and put the like similar part of puzzle. Because the material used by a society is the most important documents that give us information about that people. Even if it is a very small part, every finding is very important. And what is most important here is how we provide the transfer of objects to us? Techniques and methods used in the analysis are very important.

Not only archeology, but also other branches of science should benefit here. For example ; Archaeometry, Numismatic, Anthropology, Archeobotany, Ancient Architecture of History. There are many side branches and definitions that I can talk about archeology, so illegal excavations are of interest to all the branches as well as the history for us. Antique cities, unprotected the historical artifacts, built next to site areas and so on.
It is an eye-catching mistake that is at the root of many troubles that have reached as far as the sun. Research shows that more archeological excavations are needed to prevent illegal excavations. For this, the material investments from the state are very important. Even today, seeing at the science of excavation as a treasure hunter.

We will remember that historical artifacts are and more important than gold or silver in case of damage, but unfortunately we are too late for it. It is not enough for guardians to protect the ruins. Archeology education given at universities and institutes is of poor of quality. Both of the teachers also students. Because there isn’t enough the number of professer at universty.
Sceince is dead our place. Not only this habibat. All over the World same. Graduating from the faculty of science and literature is highly valued, but the fact that the state is not interested enough and trying to attract extraordinary science has led to disinterest in people.
We have entered into a vicious circle because the excavations have been carried out for a long time and the excavations have been carried out halfway and the restoration excavations which will provide protection, which is the most important step afterwards, have failed.

We have come to this situation because we have become almost impossible to protect what we have not been able to take, and we can not know the value of this beautiful past geography we live in. There is something we should not forget that it is the history and science that will shape the future best.

Bribe For The Best Service ~ The Shadows Of Life #15

8/6/2017

Those facilitators who form the crux of the State are the primary players in this ever continuing conundrum. But is it right to say that the fire of corruption is kept alight by the greed of the powerful alone? We have always seen corruption to be a negative phenomenon with respect to a common man, but is it so? When a whole nation is against the notion of corruption how does it manage to flourish? It is a natural law that, for something to continuously survive, its preconditions need to exist.

What Makes Corruption Survive?
So, what are the preconditions of corruption? A benefactor, a beneficiary and a benefit. Benefit or the bribe can be of monetary or non-monetary form. Conventional wisdom says that the benefactors are the public and the beneficiaries are bureaucrats, politicians and other State agents (police, judiciary etc.). People could have stopped this malice at any point of time by simply not being the benefactors for, only in very few cases is money made to be forcibly paid under physical threat. In other words, if you see the act of bribery as an act of voluntary economic transaction, we realize that bribe is one of the goods being exchanged for a certain service offered by the beneficiaries. From this perspective, the beneficiaries are the State agents who offer a speedy and efficient public service, which they should have otherwise provided without the need of any bribe.

The administrative machine of our State is so complex that getting quick service is actually a privilege. And this privilege comes at a certain cost in the form of bribe.A common man today cannot stand in line for weeks and run from one office to another to get signatures from tens of people to get his job done. The world is moving very fast and the Indian economy has become fast enough to compete at a global level. But the lack of innovation and improvement in administrative service is costing us dearly and forms the foundations of corruption. This is nothing but supply regulation. That is, there is a demand in the social market for goods and efficient governance. This demand is catered to by officials who know the loopholes of the laws and regulations for which bribe is the fee.

Need for Quality Governance
Quality governance is the demand. Public needs it, officials provide it and bribe is the price. This when not understood leads to the misconceived perception that those who take the bribe stand more to gain from those who give the bribe. But even if punishment is enforced on those who give bribe, we are again meddling with the consumer base without effectively doing anything to diminish the nature of demand. The political development in India is greatly stunted due to lack of active participation by civil society primarily during elections and almost nil thereafter. What this implies is that the changing demands of the people go unattended due to a lack of voice to ask for it. During elections, we exchange vote for promise of good governance. Note that vote is exchanged for merely a promise of good governance and not good governance itself. Whether someone after getting elected to power is able to keep the promise is one issue but what happens when s/he does not? In that case another party claims to provide the same service, but the bottom line is that voting doesn’t ensure good governance. Why? The only way to ensure good governance is by active participation by those creating the demand for it – the people.

A Personal Guide To Leoism

2/6/2017

LEOism encompasses various facets of life. You will not realize how this movement and the things you learn from them will blend into your daily life.
For 3 years it was driving me to be a better individual behind the scenes. I am having a myriad of emotions, both of joy and sadness while I write this.
Here are some things I want to share with you. It’s not an exact guide, it’s a set of tips, shared with an open heart, which will hopefully help you go a long way.

1. You should have a very compelling reason as to WHY are you joining this movement. It’s your responsibility to gather as much information as you can beforehand to make a very conscious decision.
I was always interested in doing social service, for the sake of gaining exposure of the world, knowing the life of the unfortunate, developing empathy.
I believe that the biggest religion is humanity, and this service is my offering to God. This was my primary reason to join the club.
If you just want to join for attending parties, which is great, it’s ultimately your loss because you are losing out on so much more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Never be shy to approach people because this is an amazing platform to network.
You never know how a ‘Hi, how are you?’ or a ‘See you soon’ can create great relationships.
I was initially anxious to speak up, but you have to muster courage and do it. There are others who even might be waiting for you to break the ice. There are certain people who will like you and some won’t, but make your presence
felt in a good way. Be polite and humble.
Ask for help when you have to. The head committee( the micro) will go an extra mile if you are willing to take their help. They are amazing friends and mentors.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Leverage your strengths to improve yourself in weaker aspects.

If you are someone who is great at fellowship, use that skill to interact with members and the team to demonstrate your knowledge and gain opportunities to head a service project. Vice versa, if you are good at service, share and receive opinions to create a good interaction. Knowledge is key.

LEO is the acronym for Leadership, Experience, Opportunity. I have adhered to these 3 words throughout my journey, grasping every Opportunity, gaining Experience, tweaking myself every now and then to become an effective leader.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. I have an acronym for myself which I always followed.
Learn, Envision, Orchestrate.
I have had the opportunity to be part of the Board Of Directors, who formulate the strategy and decide on the plans for execution.
I have learned and observed plenty from every senior, equivalent and junior member, all the events and projects from the club. I have headed some amazing service projects during my time. I always set my eye on some things
I wanted to do, make a clear plan for the same, which requires meticulous preparation and then execute it to perfection.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Be an asset, not a liability. Leave your mark.
Shoulder responsibility, do enough work to make yourself credible. Set aside time.
Nobody appreciates your antics, they appreciate your grit, determination, effort and dedication. Whether it’s a service project or a board meeting, your decisions, opinions, commitment matters. You need to take some load off others and help them out. Stand out and be unique, don’t just try to blend in.
As a board member, I worked hard to bring in unique, new projects, solve existing problems and grind for finishing projects. We have stayed up for nights for what not.
I have taken opportunities of anchoring just out of love for public speaking, and I did a decent job. There are certain projects which are my babies and I am known for that.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being associated with a club like Leo Club Of Juhu, and in general with the Lions movement, fills me with immense pride, and I will sign off with my head held high.

I probably might have missed a couple of points here and there. I am open to any discussion or answering any questions regarding Leoism with whatever slight knowledge I have (Leoism is really deep) in the comments section below.
