I think most of you are here since you care for your job. No one is going to tell you this so take the rest of this article very seriously. However long you find this article, please take it very very seriously. Automation is already having an effect on jobs worldwide & economists say this is only the tip of the iceberg. No Office Job is safe. Gloomiest of all is Martin Ford, a software entrepreneur and the bestselling author of “Rise of the Robots”. He warns of the threat of a “jobless future”, pointing out that most jobs can be broken down into a series of routine tasks, more and more of which can be done by machines. One may argue that automation in the past has ended up creating more jobs than endangering it. For example people have learnt how to use a computer after the development of computers promising “automation.” The growth so far was slow, making it possible for the average adult to learn and secure a job. But the “Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning" Wave is just round the corner and it is the next big thing that is going to wash the earth. I find it extremely hard to imagine how the regular cab drivers, bus drivers are going to compete against driverless cars. They’ll be thrown out of the job in very few years now. What’s next for them? What’s next for you? You might be an accountant or an insurance agent right now, do you have any plans to beat super-intelligent computers whose only goal is to work- no distractions, no knowledge deficiency, no stopping? You might be a doctor happily practising in your clinic right now, do have any plans to beat bio-technology and human genetic engineering that promises no disease or sickness in the future? The “automation bomb” could destroy 45 percent of the work activities currently performed in the United States, representing about $2 trillion in annual wages, according to a study last year by the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. In manufacturing, 59 percent of activities could be automated, and that includes “90 percent of what welders, cutters, solderers and brazers do.” In food service and accommodations, 73 percent of the work could be performed by machines. In retailing, 53 percent of current jobs could be lost. It is time now to look forth for alternatives. When a doctor’s career [one of the most sought after careers] is at stake, imagine a laundry man’s livelihood, a shopkeeper’s source of income, what’s next for them? I won’t keep questioning you. I have a plan. Politicians need to begin thinking boldly, now, about a world in which driverless vehicles replace most truck drivers’ jobs, and where factories are populated by robots, not human beings. The best way to cushion this future is to start planning for how people will be able to take care of their families — and find meaningful work — in a world where most traditional jobs have vanished. I think cancelling trade deals and removing immigrants from jobs isn't going to work (Hint! Hint!) in the long term when it is a piece of metal that is conquering the job market. We need to choose globalism over nationalism now. The “AI and Deep Learning” Wave is in sight and is said to approach within the next few years. The next generation should be ready for it. This has to, I repeat, this has to become a part of our education syllabus. Currently “Future” is needed more than “History” in our books. Just to maintain the seriousness of it. Here are some harrowing pictures. A question of a Minimum Basic Income for all has arised. The next question that comes to one's mind is- Who will pay for it? Intelligent automated machine labor needs to be taxed as machines not human labor is creating an ever increasing amount of goods, services and economic wealth. The owners of these intelligent automated machines capture enormous amounts of wealth simply because they employ very few humans hence avoiding the vast majority of indirect human worker taxes. Each intelligent automated machine is essentially a tax free worker. Human workers have vacation costs, health insurance costs, raising wage costs, social security costs, unemployment insurance cost, etc and are typically limited to a short 40+/- hour workweek. Intelligent automated machines have none of these economic liabilities working without compliant or wage increases 24x7. Here's a short clip to sum up everything. Please don't be the second horse! On the world’s roads, over 1.2 million people lose their lives annually, with millions more sustaining serious injuries and living with long-term adverse health consequences. In a blink of an eye, road accidents cause permanent damage to people’s lives and future.
A car accident,by definition,is the unintended collision of one motor vehicle with another,a stationary object or person, resulting in injuries, death and/or loss of property. (1) We are mainly concerned with this topic because it has become the leading cause of death globally.Road trafic injuries come first when we consider the top ten causes of death among people aged between 15-29.Although road traffic injuries have been a leading cause of mortality for years, most traffic accidents are both predictable and preventable. We have to know more about the causes and effects in order to learn and teach how to prevent them. Some of the main causes are what we do everyday, without knowing.Such as the use of the mobile phones while driving, speeding, driving recklessly or being distracted while driving. The other main causes are poor weather conditions, defects on the roadway, defective automobile and automobile parts. All ocur when we don’t pay enough attention. So, now that we have learned the causes,we should know how to prevent them.First, keep your eyes on the road and obey the traffic rules. Second,do not drive when sleepy or drunk. Because one little mistake can cause permanent damage not only to you but also to the people you love. To conclude, most road accidents are preventable, all we have to do is to become conscious of what is right and what is wrong. And be ready for unexpected problems that can arise. And this sentence sums it all up.”A little care, makes accidents rare.” Leo Almira Öztürk Member Of Agora Leo Club. What do drugs do to your body?
A drug when inhaled, objected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin, or dissolved under the tongue, affect the function of the central nervous system, altering perception, mood or consciousness. Taken in excess causes depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Sedation or drowsiness, Slowed movement, delayed reactions, difficulty breathing or shallow breathing, reduced heart rate, brain damage, collapsed veins or scarred veins from injections, infections and diseases such as HIV and in the end leads to DEATH. Has our education failed so horribly that 75% of Indian homes have at least one drug user, sometimes as young as nine? 35% of children have a history of substance abuse, especially kids on street, working and trafficked. It is a happy feeling to see the youth gaining knowledge. However, it is a terrible feeling seeing them gaining knowledge in the wrong field. We are aware how peer groups influence this habit. We know it is the wrong kind of influence. We know how parents ignore their kids. We know it is the lack of education. However, is it that difficult to say a NO? Do you want to get high? NO Do you want drugs? NO Do you want to get addicted? NO Do you want to ruin your life? NO Do you want to harm your body? NO Do you want a painful death? NO Nobody can pressurise you once you say a NO, because when a person says NO. It means NO. In spite of THE NARCOTIC DRUGS AND PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES ACT, 1985, it is illegal for a person to produce/manufacture/cultivate, possess, sell, purchase, transport, store, and/or consume any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance. However, it is still out there. The youth is affected and you and I are the ones to stop it. Take a stand and make them say NO. -Leo Shailja Katwala, Leo Club Of Juhu |
